Il s\u2019\u00e9tend sur une longueur de 37 km et comprend l\u2019ancienne mine d\u2019or \u00e0 haute teneur de Belleterre, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 ferm\u00e9e en 1957 et produit 2,18 millions de tonnes m\u00e9triques \u00e0 une teneur moyenne de 10,73 g\/t Au et 1,37 g\/t Ag (750 000 oz Au et 95 000 oz Ag, source : DV-85-08, site Internet du MRNF, base de donn\u00e9es Examine). <br \/> <\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9gion a \u00e9t\u00e9 sous-explor\u00e9e pendant les 60 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es et n&rsquo;a jamais fait l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;une consolidation aussi importante jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent. Depuis 2020, le secteur de Belleterre a \u00e9t\u00e9 consolid\u00e9 et agrandi par Corporation Aurif\u00e8re Vior en concluant des ententes et des achats aupr\u00e8s de particuliers ou de Il fait partie de la sous-province du Pontiac qui se trouve au sud de la sous-province de l\u2019Abitibi. Les roches m\u00e9tas\u00e9dimentaires du Groupe de Pontiac la borde \u00e0 l\u2019est et elle est entour\u00e9e ailleurs par une s\u00e9rie de granito\u00efdes des suites TTG (tonalite-trondhj\u00e9mite-granodiorite) et MMGS (monzonite-monzodiorite-granodiorite-sy\u00e9nite). L\u2019\u00e2ge des roches volcaniques serait surtout plus jeune (2690-2682 Ma; Mortensen et Card, 1993) ou contemporaine (2724-2715 Ma pour les segments Belleterre et Baby; Koita, 2019) \u00e0 celle de l\u2019Abitibi.  <\/p><p>Le projet Belleterre est l\u2019h\u00f4te de nombreux indices aurif\u00e8res repr\u00e9sentant diff\u00e9rents types de min\u00e9ralisation. Les occurrences les plus communes sont les syst\u00e8mes de veines de quartz en extension et de cisaillement (type orog\u00e9nique) auquel est associ\u00e9 le gisement de l\u2019ancienne mine de Belleterre. Les veines 12 et 12 Ouest (les plus importantes d\u2019o\u00f9 provient la production d\u2019or) recoupent un empilement de basalte br\u00e9chifi\u00e9 au contact par la mise en place des veines. Par contraste rh\u00e9ologique, d\u2019autres veines min\u00e9ralis\u00e9es sont inject\u00e9es aux interfaces basalte-chert. Le quartz, d\u2019aspect laiteux ou fum\u00e9, est accompagn\u00e9 de pyrite avec localement de la pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphal\u00e9rite et gal\u00e8ne. L\u2019or peut \u00eatre libre et visible dans certaines veines.     <\/p><p>La r\u00e9gion de Belleterre est \u00e9galement connue pour son potentiel en min\u00e9raux critiques et strat\u00e9giques, tels que le zinc, le cuivre et le nickel. C\u2019est le d\u00e9but d\u2019une ru\u00e9e vers le jalonnement conduisant \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte d\u2019autres indices aurif\u00e8res et \u00e0 la mise en production (1936) de la mine d\u2019or Belleterre par McIntyre Porcupine Mines Ltd. <\/p><p>Les premiers travaux d\u2019exploration se sont concentr\u00e9s sur des campagnes intensives de tranch\u00e9es, de sondages et de forages de courte dur\u00e9e. La mine Belleterre a \u00e9t\u00e9 ferm\u00e9e en 1957. La majorit\u00e9 des forages visent \u00e0 tester, selon une approche syst\u00e9matique, le prolongement lat\u00e9rale et verticale de la mine Belleterre et du gisement Aubelle. <\/p><p>Au cours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2025, Corporation Aurif\u00e8re Vior prolonge son programme de forage \u00e0 100,000 m\u00e8tres afin de se consacrer \u00e0 des cibles d\u2019exploration r\u00e9gionale comme la zone de d\u00e9formation du Lac Guillet, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 2 kilom\u00e8tres au sud du corridor de l\u2019ancienne mine Belleterre.<\/p><p>Depuis 2021, Corporation Aurif\u00e8re Vior a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un total de 144 485 m\u00e8tres de forage sur le projet Belleterre.
